Right? So every moment of the day we have a great in-built system that we are in charge of if we want to be, and that is our breath! How cool is that ? The mind and breath are inextricably woven together, notice when you begin to consciously take longer, slower, deeper breaths you may begin to feel calmer and more relaxed, thoughts slow down. Sometimes though, this can activate a bit of anxiousness or fear. That’s not spoken about much in classes so know this is TOTALLY NORMAL!!

Being in the moment with the breath means we allow space for things that we’ve pushed down or away will to rise up and say “hi, I’m still here, and until you listen to my message I’m not leaving.†No one reaaaally wants to feel fear or anxiety or anger, so understand that it is possible to allow the feelings to come up without getting carried away by them. If something super-challenging arises, get curious about it and see if you can trace it back to the FIRST time you felt like that. Most of the time it will be connected to something long ago, but the trigger response became hard wired into our nervous system for survival and protection purposes at that time.

Years can go by and we don’t pay attention to the feeling because as humans we all want to avoid pain, suffering and loss, for sure! But the thing is if we don’t allow these things to rise to the surface where we can really get curious and see if it’s something that still serves us, or if in fact it’s something that once we sit with it and LISTEN and feel, we may realize it’s no longer true, or needed, and we can thank it for what it taught us and chose to let it go.

IF emotions you experience in becoming still in the present moment become larger than life, do seek out the guidance of a professional other than your best friend, or spouse or sibling. A gifted pro will be able to guide you safely inward to receive your inner wisdom and Truth. The best Truth is that which you come to realize for yourself.

We are all connected, billions of people have the very same thoughts feelings and emotions we do…we are all in this together folks. Breathe deeply and let goooooo ???
