Courage is like a superpower we all have, and the more we use it the more we have.

Freedom comes from have an understanding of how our body and mind actually work. I teach deep relaxation and the power of the breath as a gateway to destressing, healing, calming the mind, the list is really long! To be still and observe the deluge of thoughts, and understand that they are happening all the time we are in the waking state – and if you have insomnia, interfering with our sleep state – does take courage. The important thing to to understand and know is that what arises when witnessing the mind is what resides within us no matter if we look at it or not.

Conscious words, thoughts, actions or unconscious reactive words, thoughts, actions. Deep relaxation allows us to become aware of what thoughts disturb our inner peace and which ones enhance it. True meditation will take you to the depth of your being and will naturally stir up memories that may cause fear or pain, some sort of disturbance. The art of self-mastery is understanding that fear will cause avoidance and ultimately control us in ways that we may be unaware of. In order to expand our loving, creative selves we have to become friendly with our thoughts, and recognize feelings and thoughts go hand in hand and by their very nature are always changing.

Learning to observe thoughts and feelings objectively, takes you into the realm of self-mastery, i.e. balance, clarity, focus, strength, compassion and wisdom. Be kind to yourself breathe deeply and relaaax. You can’t be open and loving when you are anxious and fearful or angry, nor will the body be able to heal when it’s in a steady state of stress. Pause, stretch, take a long deep exhale and let go of tension with a looooong exhale…welcome to the present moment, the only place conscious choices can be made…
